SCANS

About 50% of patients need either an ultrasound scan or an x-ray! The clinic therefore needs:

  • More Ultrasound Probes

  • An X-ray machine

EKG MACHINE

The current EKG machine has only 1 lead, making diagnosis of many cardiac conditions impossible and proper treatment improbable.

Lighting

The operating room is currently lit by a single bulb high overhead. Lighting in the room is insufficient, especially at night. A new lighting system will need to be purchased and installed.

Machines and Technology

The operating room lacks many machines vital for safe and uncomplicated surgeries. This includes: electrocautery machine, vitals monitor, anesthesia machine, baby warmers, and intubation kits.

GENERAL TECHNOLOGY

GENERATOR           COST

Without an automatic generator the power often cuts out at the clinic for hours at a time, cutting off patients access to oxygen, the vitals monitor, blood refrigerator, ultrasound machine, and almost all diagnostic tools in the laboratory. Patients pile up and must wait for hours to receive results.

COMPUTERS           COST

PERIMETER FENCE   COST

IMG_4230.PNG.png
IMG_4231.PNG.png

Currently, only a few staff members have access to a computer. Additional computers will help staff keep track of patient records as well as facilitate research and communication between staff members.

Without a fence around its perimeter, the hospital's security is threatened. With a barrier, the staff will spend less time worrying about robberies and more time catering to their patients.

Total Cost

This is a huge amount of money to ask for, but we can get there by sharing just a little and then spreading the word.

Remember that this clinic will become a self sustaining hospital that will serve thousands of people for many generations to come!

Quality healthcare is a universal right and something truly worth fighting for.

The overall estimated cost of the new clinic is $108,393, but I was informed by others who have done work in Uganda that projects there often end up costing more than expected.

To account for unexpected fees the clinic may run into, and adding the bonus feature of women's empowerment through education, we have raised the goal slightly above the expected cost

GOAL: $125,000
